Fifty-five years later, the collective, searching for a new host body, swarmed into the apartment of a man watching a news report covering the Fantastic Four. Taking the man over and viewing the world from his eyes, the Collective saw Ben Grimm, the Thing, and targeted him as the next host body. The Collective entered the Baxter Building and attacked the Thing but was beaten back with the help of the Fantastic Four and Johnny.
You might think that a bunch of roaches could not possibly be a threat to a SuperHeroine, but then you would be wrong! These roaches work together and are very powerful. When the roaches form the shape of a monster and threaten the Thing, Sue encloses them in a force field. However, she watches in horror as the force field full of roaches keeps moving toward her, closer and closer. When they are finally right up next to her, they shatter the field and Sue is knocked to the ground. They begin to take shape again and are about to descend on the blonde girl, when the Thing intervenes to save Sue. With an unconscious Sue Storm on the ground, it takes a few pages of fighting, but the Thing and the Torch finally defeat The Collective.
Reed Richards, also known as Mr. Fantastic, is the leader of the Fantastic Four. He can stretch his body to great distances due to his exposure to cosmic rays while in space. He is also considered to be one of the smartest men alive, using his brain to explore alternate dimensions and save the world alongside his family from science-based threats.
Ben Grimm, better known as the Thing, is the original quintessential tough-guy of the Marvel Universe. But, because of his transformation, he's also the tragic member of the Fantastic Four. Ben was an ace test-pilot until exposure to intense cosmic radiation mutated him into a rock-skinned monster with immense superhuman strength. Ben's exterior is much harder than stone which gives him a rather gruff disposition; but deep down, he has a heart of gold.
