A new beginning
Ellis and Hitch are gone, welcome aboard the new creative team Mark Millar and Frank Quitely, and though they came with threads and a plot already schemed by Ellis, there's a new direction in the team indeed in this arc story (issues # 13 to 16)! Authority, now lead by Jack Hawksmoor, has decided that Earth shouldn't be hostage of dictators, war, genocides, that Authority, as an cosmic or space entity, should police these affairs, and believe me, this will stir things up, bringing all the heat of the lack of diplomacy and international relations back to Authority - I believe this, along of how Hawksmoor was portraited, were the best things in this new foundation by Millar - I like his writing, but the story and plot here, along with some repetitions (like he made a joke/remark about comic books three times or more and some bumps in the story, like what the villain wanted to do and the fact that the Authority gets a wopper in the first meeting, then they divide themselves and beat the crap out of the bad guys, a little too farfetched) weren't as good as Ellis' run, that's the bad thing when a writer leaves and other takes place, the comparisions (and partial unsatisfaction) are inevitable, what's only natural. The best thing here is definitely Quitely's art, a perfect style for this group, that's the sole reason why this fourth arc story is highly recommended! In this new arc story, Authority is facing the threat of a new foe, an evil doctor who built himself an army of super heroes (that's the Aquile's heel in my opinion, because though it's meant to be a joke, the enemies are all based upon Marvel's heroes: Hulk, Vision, Hawkeye,Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Wasp, Goliath/Giant Man, Thor etc. all of them like a dark version) - the main story is the chase for the 21st century girl! It's a great arc, with new flavor and new aspects of the characters, worth reading it!
