It is clear that the psychological nightmare that Peter Parker had in Amazing Spider-Man #655 struck a chord in the readers. This issue dwelt into what "Power and Responsibility" really meant, especially since Spider-Man has seen so much death. During this dream sequence we saw a sea of people, I am sure that you didn't recognize all of these people so Marvel.com did an awesome thing of letting us know who they all were:

In the midst of the story, the duo presented their masterpiece: a mind-bending two page spread (right) by Martin in which Spider-Man stumbled through his psychedelic dreamscape searching for Marla to give him absolution and along the way encountering the other friends, family, allies and lovers he’s lost over the years. With the help of Dan Slott, we now present a comprehensive guide to the characters featured in this sequence, including when and how they met their demise.

I just read the TPB edition of this book. And I still get the chills looking back at that "silent" issue. Including the past of those lost.. its a shame Peter still blames himself after all these years. Even with his "second chance", those feelings never go away.
