    Review: The Amazing Spider-Man #653 0

When Spidey's struggle with the Scorpion and the Slayers gets too tough, he deals his Avengers trump card and calls in the cavalry.  The Good Page for page, this packs ton of a value in for your buck. The storytelling's dense in the best way, being quickly paced and concise rather than over-cooked and thick. You get a thrilling fight with the Scorpion, a frantic campaign against the Slayers and then there's even still room for some charming development of the Daily Bugle's soap opera. That's a ...

    Amazing Spider-Man 653 0

When we last left our hero, he was stuck on the side of a rocket fighting a giant man in a scorpion suit! Only in Spider-Man could this be the lead in to a serious issue that deals with a mans family and friends being hunted down. Brought to us by the creative team of Dan Slott and Stefano Caselli, you know that at the very least, this will be good, if not great, like the two have to potential to bring us. So enough small talk! Let's jump into Amazing Spider-Man 653, Revenge of the Spider...

Can I Call The Avengers The Next Time Bugs Invade My House? 0

THE BASICSSpider-Man calls for the aid of the Avengers when he realizes that Smythe's insect invasion spreads beyond his reach. Also, Squirrel Girl.MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEFI loved the scope of the story here. Insects are all over the city, there are super heroes aplenty and the opening scene with Spidey and Scorpion was pretty awesome. Caselli's artwork does a great job of capturing all this. The Shuttle scene especially. I really like his work on the series so far. Everything looks fantastic a...

Peter, you forgot to say it. 2

You have to say Avengers Assemble!  Synopsis: When Spider-man is in a pinch who does he call? Squirrel girl--I mean The Avengers! Also, the conclusion to Power Man and Spider-man team up! What's Good? The second part of Revenge of the Spider-Slayer kicks it up a notch as Dan Slott adds some surprises throughout this issue. What's not a surprise is that The New Avengers make a guest appearance. Spidey is an avenger (He's part of two teams I might add), and why shouldn't he ask for help once in a...

    Must read 0

Finally a after a long time a good comic book of spiderman with good story and good artwork. BIG TIME starts with a bang with the return of long awaiting super villain HOBGOBLIN ( My  favourite spiderman villain ) though I didn't like artwork of previous three issues, the new hobgoblin look was horrible ( the classic hobgoblin was much better) but in this issue DAN SLOTT, STEFANO CASELLI and EDGAR DELGADO has done a great job. I love the new and advanced look of scorpion ( more stronger than ev...

Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends! 1

Spidey's always had a posse.  Whether he was part of a team, doing Marvel Team-Up, or was just on one of his amazingly "normal excursions, the wall-crawler is rarely away from some form of super-being.  That's lucky for him, because as Spider-Man finds himself in some deep doo-doo with Alistair Smythe and his Spider-Slaying cohorts, his buddies at the Avengers have his back. It's EXTERMINATIN' Time! Alistair Smythe has been a busy boy, and issue #653 starts with Spider-Man in a pickle as spider-...

Spiderman and his Amazing Friends 0

Although Spidey may be scorned by the media, I bet his appreciates his own popularity within the Superhero community, because he was in desperate needs of some friends during his struggles in this issue.     The Good Well, Caselli and Delgado really nailed a pretty beautiful cover. Both in terms of actual line work, and in lighting/colouration. The Avengers look pretty damn baddass as they sit attomp the rubble, and the light from Iron Fist gives this piece a brilliant aura, making it both epic,...

Arc continues to be enjoyable. 0

653 is the second issue in the second arc of Big Time, and I have to say I really enjoyed this issue. I definitely like the switch back to one sole writer as I think it makes the story carry over more and have the same feel. Dan Slott is definitely doing that so far on his run and I think it's great (the panel with Phil Urich/Hobgoblin). The Art is pretty good (though I enjoy Humberto a bit more) and the story is overall enjoyable though not anything life changing. I like the little grove Amazin...
