Just friends...
Writing: OMIT has been nothing but hype. This story arc did not amount to what it was said to be. MJ and Peter have been a major iconic comic book couple and now they are only bff's. I feel that it is just one big slap in the face to the readers (us) and even Stan Lee. The memories were interesting but that doesn't really make up for poor writing with Peter and MJ now. To tell you the truth this arc has been a waste of time and paper. Oh and ink. This issue made the most boring part most of the issue which was when Strange, Reed, and Tony were talking.
Characters: These characters were put in the hands of a poor writer. Joe Quesada tarnished MJ and Peter's relationship. I read OMIT strictly for Peter and MJ and I was not impressed and was purely let down.
Dialogue: Who cares about the dialogue when you have a giant mess with Peter and MJ???!!!
Art: Are those how facial expressions really are Joe Quesada????
Cover: The cover was gorgeous. The classic MJ holding on to Peter look. All the covers for OMIT have been amazing!
Penciling: If you read my previous reviews on OMIT then you know I hate Quesada's penciling and I like the other one.
Cover: I like the coloring on Joe Quesada's art because you couldn't see his work in the dark.
My favorite scene!
Somehow I did manage to find a scene I really liked. When MJ was saying how she didn't want to remember that Peter was Spider-Man and how she was the one putting people in danger because she was Spidey's girl, that really impressed me. I never looked at it that way and I really liked that scene.
Reasons to and not to pick up.
Reasons to pick up: This issue did bring up a new perspective on MJ putting people in danger because she is Spidey's girl and I think that is really cool and does need to be looked upon. The memories were good to look at and the art for the memories was great.
Reasons not to pick up: Peter and MJ are now bff's. For me it is all or nothing. I feel that their relationship has been tarnished and that Joe Quesada should never have written OMIT. OMIT has been just hype in other words all bark and no bite. Joe Quesada's art is bad. OMIT should have been omitted from this series and should never have been mentioned.
Verdict: Do not pick up!!! 3 out of 5.
