Great Spidey Comic for a Lapsed Reader

Now, I haven't read any Spider-man since One More Day. Not really as a political protest or any form of special hiatus, just didn't really get around to it. It happens. Anyway, I picked this up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. I quickly got a decent idea of what had been going on and openly accepted new characters and new takes on old characters without any qualms. The first thing that struck me about this issue, however, is the GORGEOUS artwork. In my humble opinion, Michael Gaydos (whom I had not heard of prior to this, so forgive me if I've been living under a rock) captures the essence of classic Spider-man lore and combines a brilliantly contemporary style. If you're a lazy constantly lapsing reader (the likes that would make most comicviners' collective blood boil), pick this up and enjoy!

Micheles friend causes Peters spidey sense to go off so when the guy leaves Peter, as Spider-Man, tails him. And Spidey following Michel...

Amazing Spider-Man has had a really good run the last couple months with the Gauntlet and with last week's amazing issue I wasn't necessarily looking for this to match it in terms of action and overall effect.  This issue is well written and drawn in the sense that it basically goes in the opposite direction as last week's.  We stop a catch a breather and see what's going on with the whole Peter/Michelle situation, which is a change of pace that was needed for this issue.  Basically Peter walks ...
