    The first chapter of a five-part story arc, featuring the stunning debut of new regular artist Mike Deodato! Also the issue that introduced two new characters Spider-fans are still talking about today!

    Mary Jane auditions for the play "Cats Always Lie". The director gives her some advice,and the part. Peter and MJ celebrates in Forest Hills with May until a letter arrives from Gwen Stacy. Reading it Peter learns that Gwen had some bad news, but half the message is missing. MJ wonders how long the letter must have been. lost in the mail system but Peter points out the postage is only from days ago. Peter visits Gwen's grave where he is taunted by two mysterious attackers. He fights them off and escapes by sticking to a passing truck. The attackers realize that Peter is Spider-Man.

     By The Angry Comic Book Critic       Well ladies and gentlemen here it is my 50th review Spectacular and today I'm going to review something very special the very 1st comic I ever bought and that my friends is Amazing Spider-man #509. Now I realize this comic has taken a lot of criticism over the years and I can easliy see why because of how badly it jumps the shark for the character of Gwen Stacy but honestly for me it didn't matter because I new nothing about the prior continuity of the serie...
