Spider-Verse Comes to a Conclusion!
Without a doubt, I can confirm that Spider-Verse has been one heck of a ride and quite possibly one of Marvel's best events in recent memory. Having just gotten back into Spider-Man comics recently after a nearly five year hiatus, I was thrilled to see favorites of mine brought back into the event. Spider-Man Noir, Mayday Parker, Miles Morales, Cosmic Spider-Man just to name a few. This event was a celebration of the history of Spider-Man and the way they were brought into the event was extremely thrilling. While I've enjoyed nearly every issue of Amazing Spider-man during this Spider-Verse event, I'm afraid it shot my expectations of the ending through the roof, and unfortunately...it didn't live up to the hype. The issue is nearly all fighting, as expected, and doesn't give us any interesting dynamics between Spider characters as all of the other issues have before. There are Spiders that we have barely even seen, and I think it would have been better had they had a little time to shine. The ending seemed very abrupt as well, and it looks like we'll have to wait until the next issue to wrap things up completely. Coipel's art was great too see again, and while the ending didn't deliver like we had hoped, we can agree that Spider-Verse as a whole has been one hell of a ride and one of Marvel's best events of late.
