Good art, no depth to story
This issue started off where #2 left off. A dying Thanos is attacked and beaten by the Imperial Guards after Champion joins the fight. During the fight we get some interesting break away interview based commentaries from different individuals throughout the galaxy. They build up Thanos as the most evil, baddest of the bad kind of being. This is shown in contrast to the fight in which he is being severally beaten down by various guardsmen of the Imperial Guard. Thanos, as a lead character right now, is about as bland a protagonist as he was an antagonist in Infinity. The artwork used to bring this shallow story to life is incredibly beautiful. It's photo realistic quality gives a sense of grim to the whole story. An amazing choice for a story so focused around death and destruction. The real issue I have with it is the lack voice Thanos has. He has once again been reduced to an evil angry cosmic brute who kills whatever he wants whenever he feels like it. There is no attempt to capture the sophistication, intelligence and poetic nature of the character. Which is unfortunate because a story like this could have benefited very well from it. The artwork for this series is amazing, if anything, read it for that. However, if you're looking for a deep, complex story about one of Marvels more fascinating villains, I suggest you look elsewhere as you are likely to be dissatisfied.
