    A skilled gunfighter and horseman

Son of Lance Temple, a Texas veteran of the Texas independence war. His father became blind after an attack by bandits that he had put in prison. Lancelot and his father were assisted by the wanderer gunfighters Red Hawk and Emilio the Mexican. They taught the young Lancelot the arts of the gun, knife and hand-to-hand fighting. Despite that his father made him vow to never use violence.

When the bandit responsible for his father's blinding and mother's killing returned to the town, Lancelot Temple decided to take revenge. Putting on "caballero" clothing gifted by Emilio and a yellow mask to hide is identity, he called himself Texas Kid, got revenge for his parents and became a fighter for justice.

    Relation with Outlaw Kid

After the cancellation of the Texas Kid, Marvel created another character also called Lance Temple, that was called "Outlaw Kid". Outlaw Kid had an identical appearance and supporting characters (Zane Temple, Emilio, Red Hawk). However, Outlaw Kid evolved into his own character and his origin was finally retconned, being transformed into a lawyer and veteran of the Civil War, and his father was known as "Hoot" Temple.

Both Texas Kid and Outlaw Kid are recognized as different characters in the Marvel universe, both inhabiting the same 616 reality, but it's unknown what kind of relation exists between the two.

    Continuation in Brazil

In a similar fashion to Marvel's Black Rider, Texas Kid had more success abroad than in his own country. Brazilian publisher RGE produced new stories for the Texas Kid once the American material ceased.
