    The Shadow of Evil over the City of San Francisco...

    The "Black Mountain Asylum", in the hills surrounding San Francisco Bay, is a newly conceived asylum where, thanks to the prodigious care of a famous psychiatrist, even the criminally insane have hope of being cured. Tex and Carson, on the other hand, think that for certain murderers the only remedy is the gallows, and their doubts increase when some wealthy citizens mysteriously go mad and strange, inexplicable robberies put the police led by Tom Devlin in a crisis. Could the solution to these mysteries lie in the model asylum?
