Who do you think is the perfect girl for Terry?
-) Dana Tan, his girlfriend?
-) Max Gibson, his friend and sidekick?
-) Melanie Walker a.k.a. Ten from Royal Flush Gang, his Catwoman?
-) Marina a.k.a. Aquagirl from Justice League?
-) Somebody else?
Please explain your choice.
Terry McGinnis
Character » Terry McGinnis appears in 408 issues.
Born with a partial strand of the original Batman's DNA, Terry McGinnis was a reformed juvenile delinquent who stole the Batman suit to avenge the murder of his father. Under Wayne's guidance, Terry became The Tomorrow Knight of futuristic Neo-Gotham: Batman Beyond.
Who is the perfect girl for Terry McGinnis?
Personally I always liked Melanie Walker/Ten, she was his version of Catwoman, even though they've made a Catwoman Beyond now, Ten was meant to be Terry's Catwoman. Plus she was way more interesting and her and Terry's interactions were great! ^_^
Dana Tan all the way.
The other characters while nice, just don't cut it. They all have potential for good story arcs but none seem to be able to survive in the long run with Terry relationship wise.
Max is just Terry's oracle. His best friend, but she doesn't seem really attracted to him.
The catwoman seems like she is amused by Terry, but she didn't really flirt with him, but well see on that end.
ten, well, see. not sure about her.
Dana, she's the only girl that puts up with his sh$t.
Also, I thought it was obvious as Terry was going to propose in "Epilogue"
I hated Dana, she never once made Terry's life easier, always whining about Terry having to leave to fight bad guys, typical Spider-Man/Mary Jane scenario....which to me has been played out too much, why can't for once a superhero's girlfriend actually be understanding and not pitch a fit every time he's late for a date?

It took Terry's individuality and dragged it through crap

" @War Killer said:I know, I mean the one thing that made Terry interesting was that he was his own man, he had his own personal tragedy and how he dealt with it. But making him Bruce's genetic clone didn't do anything but make him another Dick Grayson or Damian Wayne. Adding nothing to the character whatsoever. Personally this is why I like the current BB series because it takes place before all that crap." Develop Dana and make her a real character and more independent and I'm good with her but I like the idea of Max(even though it'll never happen) and his catwoman had nice chemistry with terry
you mean if Terry traveled through time and met young version of Barbara? I think it could be funny, especially if you throw Dick Grayson in the mix.
Yes, although most of you consider Dana Tan as his best choice as a girlfriend, think about the cons:
- She's not as nice to someone who's busy (24/7?)
- She's not as interesting in the Batman Beyond story-line as Melanie
Personally, I would've chosen Melanie Walker, primarily due to her "mysteriousness" and how Terry McGinnis acts around her (whenever he got a chance). She's also much nicer, cuter too! ^_^
Judging by Epilogue, she'll get used to it.- She's not as nice to someone who's busy (24/7?)
Terry ending up with Dana ruined Batman Beyond for me. Melanie had far more depth to her character as ten and far better chemistry with Terry.
I say my first choice is Aqua Girl. Why?
- Her name is Marina...that is my name and the first time I heard Terry say it in the series my heart exploded.
- No one else was showing her any love and I think she's got a decent shot since they are both on the Justice League so they will probably be seeing a lot of each other.
- I am kidding for the most part it's just an entertaining idea.
But on a serious note my choice for Terry is Melanie/Ten she has more character depth to her and they just click so well it was instantaneous and there is enough conflict between the characters to keep things interesting. Also I just think Dana is a high maintenance bitch (pardon my French) I hate the stupid whiny/needy girlfriend all to common in comics Terry needs a more dynamic character to match his personality and she just isn't it.
Dana and Terry is, as stated, typical Mary Jane-Spiderman stuff. Hell, Dana was barely even around, except to b*tch at Terry. "Gee Dana, I'm sorry my dad was murdered and now Im living with my mom and brother again after recently getting out of juvie and picking up a new job to help my family while juggling my normal teen stuff!"
I prefer Terry and Melanie. She wasn't trying to ride life like a roller coaster. She understood him and it could have gone so much farther after she got out of jail and left her parents.
In Dana's defense she just thought Terry was screwing around with rich old man Bruce Wayne BS, she didnt know about the Bat-connection. Terry should have stood up a bit to her , but really if you think about it there was nothing that Bruce actually needed Terry to do , that another servant couldnt have done.
I think Aqua-girl should be used similar to how lots of people want to ship Bruce or Clark to WW.
@kairan1979: Melanie. Both the Melanie/Terry and Batman/Ten "chemistry" was great.
2nd a tie between Dana and Marina.
Ten/Melanie Walker FTW. She was nice, pretty and knew how it felt to be like Terry. Plus, unlike Dana, she wasn't high maintenance and was fun to hang out with. Terry actually seemed to enjoy spending time with her.
Maxine seemed like a case of people wanting to see what wasn't really there.
Mareena would be fun to try just for the heck of it, and they seemed to have more chemistry than Terry and Dana, which already puts her in front of everyone else save for Melanie.
