Winnick is officially off of "Titans"
"Hey I just wanted to pass on this info since most newsites are only reporting on WonderCon. Saturday at MegaCon during the DC Univers panel I asked if Winnick would still be the writer of Titans post Deathtrap. Dan Didio said no he wouldn't and a new writer would be named soon. I don't know why the DC Nation panel at MegaCon was reported on but no one has covered the DC Universe one. Just wanted to let you know so you could pass along the good news."
Titans fans have been speculating this for months. For whatever reasons, the TITANS launch has been horrible. Let's hope DC lines up someone suitable to replace Winick!
solicits come in two weeks so unless a report saying who will be the new creative team is released then we have a lot of time to guess
who do you think will get it? who do you think should have it? who has earned the right to have the grown up version of the best selling team of DC during the eighties.
I think Tomasi would do a great work as he has proved in the outsiders and green lantern corps that he can write various characters on the same team with different personalities without making them all sound the same or bad written.
Another writer who has a gift for team books as shown in Birds of Prey and Secret Six is Gail Simone.
However if there's a creative team that deserve it more than anyone is the creative team that put them on the map in the first place, I nominate Marv Wolfman as the new writer and George Perez as his co-writer and drawer
