Nine Lives of the Cat
Pat Boyette's artwork is fair. In addition to providing his usual fan service by being a walking shirtless scene, Korak becomes a dude in distress several times in this story. Korak barely avoids being hit by a flying axe and a gunshot. While wrestling the shooter, the boy is almost killed by his own knife. Fortunately, the knife breaks on his new amulet. Korak then survives a panther attack without his knife, a falling tree, and a knife-wielding native, before dodging a speeding truck. In this two-part story, Korak comes across as a victim of circumstance in a leather loincloth. Fortunately, he has strength, agility, and intelligence to survive. In this second part, he survives the murderous attacks of a rich man who covets an amulet which supposedly contains magical powers.
