For the beginning of a new series, this comic doesn't really impress. Both the plot and artwork seem a little sub-par. The art by Jim Lawson reflects someone still struggling to figure out their own "look." His turtles and human characters look like poor imitations of Eastman and Laird's original artwork. This book seems more like a trial run for his developing style rather than anything accomplished.
