Archie Andrews is an only child, who resides in the town of Riverdale where he attends Riverdale High. He has two girlfriends, Betty Cooper and Veronica Lodge who both compete for his attention.
Betty is Archie's love interest along with Veronica. She is Veronica's best friend. She is kind, helpful, caring and selfless.
Veronica Lodge is a main character in the Archie Comics where she is the love interest of Archie but desired by his rival, Reggie.
Reggie Mantle is a character in the Archie universe. He has appeared in nearly all of the Archie comics, and has a major role in many stories. He first appeared in 1942. Reggie's real name is Reginald Mantle III. However, he prefers "Reggie", or just simply "Reg".
Jughead is the best friend of Archie Andrews. He is best known for his insightful yet cynical wit, his unmatched appetite, and his masterful cunning at accomplishing his goals with minimal effort (often called "laziness" by other characters). Equally well known but less understood are the signature beanie and cocky half-lidded squint that have remained with him since his creation as a character over half a century ago.
Dilton Doiley is a boy genius. He is a character in the Archie universe. For a brief period of time, he had his own comic series called Dilton's Strange Science. In this series, he and his friend Danni Malloy had wacky adventures involving science fiction and crazy inventions.

In the original comic books, Sabrina comes from a long line of powerful witches; in the later live-action TV series, Sabrina Spellman is half-mortal. Though many people assume the character is inspired by the series Bewitched, she actually pre-dates the series by two years.

Maria Rodriguez is an Archie supporting character introduced in the 1970s. She was originally the daughter of the new vice-principal of Riverdale High School but her father was soon forgotten. She was then cast as the love interest of Frankie Valdez and a friend to Betty and Veronica. She acts as the manager of Frankie.
She is the wife of Hiram Lodge, mother of Veronica Lodge and the richest woman in Riverdale. She is active in philanthropic organizations.
Little Jinx is an Archie Comics character introduced in 1947. She was a mischievous little girl who had various misadventures with her father and various friends. Her stories mostly served as back-up features to other characters but she was given her own title twice. The first lasted from 1956 to 1957, the second from 1971 to 1973. Since the 1980s there have been often reprints of her stories but little to no new material about her.
