Tagalog Klasiks was the second “komik” to come from Aces Publications in the Philippines, and at first there was some difficulty in finding enough local material to fill it’s bi-weekly pages, so they resorted to adding some translations of American comics such as Gilberton's Classics Illustrated (Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde etc..) and allegedly some Jack Kirby, (though I have as yet been unable to find out which issues and what was used.)
Eventually it would be filled with all new and locally made material such as master thief with a heart of gold Palos “the Eel,” and Gagamba “the Spider.”
