Alan Moore's Swamp Thing goes down in superhero comics as the birth place to the mature read.  Swamp Thing #21 is the true first comic of the celebrated Swamp Thing run.  Many other famous comic creators can claim their fame to being rooted here.  The idea to destroy a character and rebuild it comes from this issue.
