    A chain gang fugitive attempts to murder an old woman in the swamp for her cauldron of stew. Before the Swamp Thing can intervene though, the convict dies from sustained bullet wounds. The woman, Auntie De Luvian is not scared of Swamp Thing, and tells him a story of the plantation that used to be on the site, and the cruel slave master that owned it. As soon as she finishes the tale, she tells the Swamp Thing that they are being watched by "unholy things"...

    The Series That Would Not Die 0

    True to pattern, no sooner than D.C. sends a poor issue of Swamp Thing to press, they produce an excellent follow-up. This may in fact be the best issue of the series so far. Swamp Thing is back in his element, and we get a story involving an escaped convict, pre-Civil War ghosts, and the return of Swamp Thing's arch-nemesis, Dr. Arcane and his Un-Men minions.  But Swamp Thing #10 has more than just all the trappings of a good Swamp Thing story - Berni Wrightson really delivers on the artwork he...
