@jonny_anonymous: They what?
They just killed it for me with the Frank Miller Bullsh!t.
Same here, I hope and pray to God that they use nothing from Frank Miller piece of shit The Dark Knight Returns aka Look how much of a badass I am. Can we just do this right way and have them as the world's finest, you know beating the crap out of bad guys instead of each other, Frank Miller's "Superman" if you can even call him that was NOT Superman, I think any sane comic book reader can agree on that.
I hope it isn't. We just got a Superman movie. I don't need Batman glamoring everything with his BS.
They just killed it for me with the Frank Miller Bullsh!t.
Frank Millers Batman movie was a fanboy movie, They took down superman after he got nuked in the face, and they used a sprinkle of green fairy dust to take him down, Frank Miller must not know about Metallo.
The only way yo make Batman look cool it to f*ck with Superman.
Most of you don't understand that some heroes can't hold their own movie like batman and superman can. Wonder Woman probably couldn't, not aquaman or cyborg. Green lantern had his chance and kinda blew it. I hope the flash movie is good but no other hero is gonna have successful movies like batman an superman. Don't mean to be a downer just speaking the truth
@sandman_: They said they where not adapting anything from TDKR
@justthatkid: Hopefully it won't hurt Superman. I don't need any of that Frank Miller BS.
@sandman_: They said they where not adapting anything from TDKR
Where?
@sandman_: The part when Snyder said
"We're not adapting this thing,"

There said they weren't adapting anything. They used that line to just reveal Batman. From CBR:
"I know there's been a lot of speculation about what we're doing," Snyder said. "It is official that we're going to make another Superman movie." He teased that "there's one particular part of the film I might be able to help you out with."
Harry Lennox from "Man of Steel" joined the panel to read something. "We're not adapting this thing," Snyder said, "but it will help us tell you something."
@justthatkid: How could he know? He's too busy fapping to Sin City fanfic.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEES! ITS HAPPENING!!! I waited for this movie since I was a little kid! This is BY FAR my biggest geek out moment, when it comes to movies! I LOVED Man of Steel and cannot wait to see a sequel with my favorite fictional character ever entering the picture! I couldn't be more excited! I am just a bit afraid that it comes out the same year as Star Wars and Avengers 2. I want Batman/Superman to be hugely successful! Lets just hope they get a Batman actor who can hold his own against Cavill, who is for my taste perfect for his role!
@justthatkid: I understand but it's really not that big of a deal if batman can beat him. What he did in tdkr makes sense actually. He used electricity and kryptonite which both effect superman. And supes best villian is a human so humans can definitely do damage to him.
But that's a different discussion. Lets just hope this is a good movie.
I don't have any sort of thoughtful reaction to this. I think a Batman Superman film is a smart move enroute to a biger Justice League film. Batman is normally considered the most human member of the team so bringing the alien and human together should make intergrating an Amazon who depending on contonuity is a demigod, a space cop (also human), another alien and a quippy speedster much easier.
The only thing I don't like is the fact that David S. Goyer is involved in writing it because I don't trust Synder to be able to regin in Goyer's tendencies. Goyer is great at coming up with big story and broad stroke stuff but he needs it refined into something more palatable. That said I don't think his actual dialog is that bad. Zack Synders visual asethic is one of the things I like about the dude. He knows how to make pretty things happen and than capture them on screen. Man of Steel looks friggin beautiful at times.
Sweet! These two characters together is always entertaining.
I'll line up for the Flash movie, but I think it is a huge miss not to do a Wonder Woman movie.
@polemicalhero: You see how I was using quotes to pretend to be executives talking about the movie? It's called hyperbole. It's mainly a comment on how they think they can just add Batman to make it ten times more popular, just like the attitude of throwing Wolverine or Deadpool on a comic cover is.
But, for the record, I personally loathed both MoS and DKR. I thought they did a terrible disservice to their respective characters.
this is just my personal opinion but I really didnt like Man of Steel. Just rubbed me the wrong way.
Saying that I'm actually intrigued about this happening just hope it works out well and zack really gives it his all on the relationship/ fleshing out the characters in this one.
As a child, I worshiped the Superman: The Animated Series 3-part episode 'The World's Finest'. I remember recording it on my VCR and watching it over and over again for a few years because I was so thrilled to see Batman and Superman together.
If this news is indeed true and confirmed, then, from the kid inside me, thank you to all those that have made this possible :)
FACK YEAHH!! I hope DC/WB takes it slow and does not rush and they could have something here like Marvel.
God, why Synder. Why the f*ck would Warner Bros give such a high priority movie to Synder. He can't direct for shit.
@ultrastarkiller: I am right with you, man! CHRISTIAN BALE!!!!! CHRISTIAN BALE!!!
Just give him all the money he wants and lets go!
@omgomgwtfwtf: Strong hate towards Snyder
@omgomgwtfwtf: Strong hate towards Snyder
He can't write or direct a movie at all. It's sad when his best rated movie is Dawn of the Dead ffs.
@sandman_: (Sigh) Terrific. Same tone as what will have come before. And yet because it's the first time Superman and Batman have been on the live action screen, I'm still giving it a chance.
@smashbrawler Yeah I'm not pleased with Goyer and Snyder writing this either. Not a fan of more of the same stuff as MOS.
To be honest I am beyond excited and I will prolly go watch this movies multiple times in theaters, but here are my concerns:
1. Superman and Batman work so well cause its yin and yang, Boy Scout and Brooding Avenger. Super powerful and no powers at all, light and dark, and I can keep going. The problem is in Man of Steel they gave Superman NO personality, and they actually made him into a brooding dark figure. What I am worried about is if they don't rectify this in the next movie, its going to be two brooding figures, and hte dynamic won't be as interesting.
2. Goyer's writing, he has a lot of passion in his work which is awesome and all, but his problem is he is always trying to go for EPIC. Problem is I haven noticed in his writing style from Man of Steel and Dark Knight Rises, its exposition and epic dialogue all the time. Batman and Superman although can have serious moments should also be fun, and Goyer is struggling to get fun into his writing.
3. Snyder will make the movie look beautiful, that is a fact. But besides that, and besides 300, what movie has anyone seen and said that was AWESOME. I mean watchmen was big, but to be honest, it didn't leave that big of an impression on me. I have more faith in Snyder than Goyer though...which is sad cause didn't Goyer work on Dark Knight? cause that movie was the best movie I have ever seen (my truly honest opinion).
But if Snyder and Goyer bring their A game, and stop making Superman so dark, then we might have a chance of having the best superhero movie ever made.
@omgomgwtfwtf: I dont trust them with Batman thats for sure...I feel like Christopher Nolan should of did MOS

YES YES YES AND YES

People said the same thing about Thor and Cap before 2011.
It must be the nastalgia of one of my first 10 books I ever bought being the complete Frank Miller Batman containing Year One and DKR in one large lether bound hard cover, but I loved the adaptations they did of those books. Aside from the stupid Catwan and Batman fight in Year One, and also wished they put the narraration in DKR, but I think they were great.
I'm excited for this. I also think this is a better idea than going straight into a Justice League movie.
We could use this movie as the starting off point for a new franchise. How cool would it be if Superman/Batman revealed that Man of Steel all took place in an alternate universe?
Failing that, how about we get a good Superman movie and a good Batman movie that doesn't betray the character for the entire last movie before we start building on existing franchises?!
