Superman and the Batman Together Again 0

The quick Cole's Notes version of both Superman's and Batman's histories are told side by side here. President Lex finds out there is a huge chuck of Kryptonite on its way to Earth and both Superman and Batman are investigating and trying to defend themselves against Metallo.A decent introduction to the series. The thing I like about this duo, at least previously has been they tend to balance each other out well. All the bright sunshine of Superman and the darkness of the Batman work well tog...

One of the most tragic losses to the 1985 Crisis on Infinite Earths was that in the single DC Universe books like The New Adventures of Superboy (not to be confused with the late '80's series tie-in book), DC Comics Presents and The World's Finest all were cancelled. Story-telling changed after that Crisis. Books with multiple stories and characters, like Adventure, Batman Family and Superman Family and The World's Finest were a thing of the past. Until Wednesday's Comics. Action Comics tried th...

Great start to a great title. 0

If you haven't read any of the Superman/Batman series comics yet, go ahead and pick this up. Overall, I have found the series to be very good. Lots of interesting story arcs and one-shot issues. Plenty of characters from throughout the DC Universe. The series starts off with a bang as a giant meteor made of kryptonite hurls towards Earth. The current president of the United States, Lex Luthor.....(Yes, Lex Luthor), decideds to use the meteor as a reason for declaring war on Superman. Luthor clai...

Metallo is searching for his body when Superman tries to take him down, and Batman is investigating Metallos remains. In the graveyard, Metallo attacks again, but this time he brings a gun with a Kryptonite bullet. At the same time President Lex Luthor is tracking a meteor of made entirely of Kryptonite heading for Earth.   I have to say, this is one of those rare instances where you have everything come together perfectly to create comic book gold....

At first I thought the idea of team up book between Superman and Batman would never work. Thankfully, after reading this issue, I can say how wrong I actually was. Throughout the first few pages we see Clark and Bruce's monologue, that were brilliantly delivered by Loeb. This was easily my favorite part of the issue, as we can really see how very different and similar both heroes are at the same time. The book is by no means slow paced, as the story flows nicely. Jeph also makes sure not to leav...

An oldie, but a goodie! 0

Written by Jeph Loeb with artwork by Ed McGuinness, this is the definitive series featuring Batmand and Superman! (Pre-New 52 series!)The GoodIt is always good to take a step back from a current series and continuity to remember a simpler time. This, would be it! Writer Jeph Loeb did an amazing job with this issue, and reflected Batman and Superman's relationship, or partnership, at a different time in their lives. In this issue, Loeb shows us the events, and circumstances, that will be making L...
