Poll Will Action Comics be renumbered after Action Comics #1000? (39 votes)

    Yes 5%
    No 79%
Want to see the poll results 15%
    No Caption Provided

As of the day this poll was made, there are only 20 issues left until Action Comics reaches the 1000th issue milestone with DC's bimonthly publishing schedule. Although Action Comics #1000 certainly has a nice ring to it, AC 10001 and 10002 and so on might not be so appealing for DC's printing division. Therefore, after the 1000th issue comes out, do you think Action Comics will be renumbered? Or will the series carry on past 1000?

While I understand the argument, I don't want to change the numbering because It shows how far they go and it's milestone.

1001 actually sounds more appealing than, say, 883, so no. I get the idea, but Action reaching any number is an industry milestone.

It shouldn't. Renumbering is annoying and potentially confusing. I feel that renumbering Action Comics goes against the spirit of the Rebirth initiative.

No. If there's anything DC can learn from Marvel, it's that renumbering titles (while intended to make it easier for new readers), only makes it more confusing. Keep Action Comics going for another 1000 issues.

Why'd they want to do something like that? It's an important number. They're bound to make an event out of it.

I hope they don't renumber Action Comics after issue 1000, it would be nice to see the series continue into the 1000s range.

No. It's historical. I just hope they released AC 1000 as a massive issue.

It would be a shame if 1000 forward was not maintained.

Marvel loves to renumber everything all the time now, and the lost longevity of it's titles is a shame.

It wouldn't make sense if they would renumber it already. Around February. Rebirth will be 1.5 years and there's no need to renumber it. Would be lame to do that, a la Marvel.

I wouldn't but I'm not DC. 1000 is a great milestone so renumbering it would be silly.

Not immediately, I dont think so. DC is currently trying to break the trend of #1 issues being the most important but who knows, that red button of relaunch can be very tempting.

I hope they don't do that. Action Comics #1001 sounds incredibly good, an amazing milestone to say the least, but who knows what might happen.

I think they will want to advertise the 1000th issue as that, beyond that who knows. Most likely they will renumber Action Comics because a new number 1 issue always boost sales a bit.

I imagine they had already considered (and likely resolved) any potential printing issues for both Action and Detective Comics prior to Rebirth when they resumed the numbering for both titles...at least you would hope they thought about that. Then again, it may have never even been a factor to be considered. I'm just hoping they do something epic for the issue and keep the current numbering.

At twice per month, that would put issue #1000 hitting the shelves in, what, March 2018? Any idea how long DC plans to do their bi-monthly titles?

For as long as they sell well, I would guess. If the sales slump enough for it not to be worth their costs, then they'll go back to once a month. OR if they get a superstar writer (like Grant Morrison or the like) and they don't want to work that fast.
