Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Who's better looking: Henry Cavill or Christopher Reeves
Reeves looks kind of like my dad
It's close but I'd pick Cavill
It's close but I'd pick Cavill
My sister says Henry Cavill is a mixture of Christopher Reeve and Matt Bomer. I'd throw a little bit of Tom Welling in there too for good measure. OK basically what i'm saying is, Cavill.
Cavill. Not that it matters.
Only ugly people say that looks don't matter

I never said looks don't matter.
No contest, no homo.
Just look at his jaw line! So magnificent!
Cavill looks good..but he looks like he's going bald a little..i mean look at his forhead.
Otherwise he is perfect to play supes but he could have been taller by an inch or two and he'd look better as supes.
Brandon routh was tall though..he had a terrible costume with the red undies so he looked a lil awkwardly in that costume. But Brandon routh rocked the clark kent look with the glasses..overcoat and stuff
Cav-El
That's awesome. The Clark Kent looks mainly like Routh and Reeves though.
The Bruce pic looks mostly like Affleck and Clooney, with a sprinkle of Bale.
Cavill is very good-looking but there's something off about him, I can't quite put my finger on it. Rumors are that he's gay, and although they say that about pretty much every good looking heartthrob in Hollywood, they make a pretty good case for Henry Cavill. Anyway, Reeves, I think, was not as pretty but the man was very charming, and intelligent it seems so all things considered I go with Christopher Reeves.
They’re both very handsome (or were handsome in Reeve’s case, when he was alive and before his accident). And mind you, no homo.
With some edge, I’ll give vote to Cavill.
Must add though, Reeve had more appropriate height for playing Superman, but Cavill done far better job in developing Superman-esque musculature. In the end no-one is perfect.
Christopher Reeve was good looking, but Henry Cavill is good looking AND sexy thanks to the thick chest hair, the real muscles and British accent. Lynda Carter stomps all over Gal Gadot though.
Cavill is better looking.
But Reeves was a better actor and had more personality, also he used to be Alfred lover.
@deltahuman: His hairline is receeded, it has been for a few years actually. He's just styled kt differently for so long that it wasn't visible...until now
For some bizzare reason, they decided to slick back his Superman hair in Batman vs Superman. I don't see the logic in slicking back a Norwood 3 hairline.
If you look at Cavill's Clark Kent in BvS, his hair isn't slicked back - and he looks a lot better as a result of it. But when he becomes Superman, they fudge up his hair.
His hairline in the scene with his mother in BvS looked attrocius.
@frozen: yeah that's like the first thing that i notice in cavill..his receding hairline...Cavil us very well built but shorter by an inch or two.
Brandon routh had the perfect height and looks. But his suit looked terrible and perhaps he wasn't as well built as Cavill
@deltahuman: Routh was actually 220lbs, a good 25-30lbs bigger than Cavill.
Cavill is 6"0 and between 195-200lbs, those proportions are actually very similar to Christian Bale in Batman Begins.
@frozen: oh then Cavill is a good 3 inch shorter than Routh i guess..Routh is 6.3 innit?
@frozen: Cavill is 6'1. Routh is 6'2. Cavill is also much bigger than Routh. Especially in Batman v Superman.
@theincrediblesuperhulk8642: He is not bigger. Routh is listed as 6"2 and stated himself to be 220lbs for Superman, Cavill is only around the 200lb mark for Superman, up from 170lbs in Immortals. Where's your source for Cavill being bigger?
Cavill is listed as 6"0 too, not 6"1.
@frozen: Routh stated at his heaviest he was 218. Which is contradictory because he said 220 beforehand. You are right that he's generally listed as 6'3.
Cavill at his biggest for MOS weighed 100kg (220 pounds). His body fat percentage was also much lower than Routh. Look at any picture between the 2. Cavill is huge. Even in MOS. Routh never looked physically impressive in returns. Cavill looked big in MOS and even bigger in BvS. He's listed as 6'1 in most sites for measurements you can find.
I read that he was 180 for immortals and needed to pack on 30 pounds for MOS (puts him at 210).
Also Cavill doubled his muscle mass for Batman v Superman stated in a recent interview.
Also Cavill's natural body weight is 205. He is much bigger as Superman than when he is regular.
Bale looks like a twig in TDK and TDKR so it doesn't make sense that Cavill would be his size. Evans is slightly over 200 as Cap and Cavill looks much bigger as Superman.
The only actors who look bigger than Cavill are Affleck as Batman and Hemsworth as Thor.
@theincrediblesuperhulk8642: Interesting, however Bale was not a twig in TDKR. He is listed as 6"0 and 190lbs in TDK and TDKR, literally the same size as Evans. In Batman Begins, Bale was initially 220lbs but was asked by Nolan to cut down.
@frozen: Bale was huge for Batman initially. He had an impressive shape for Begins but he slimmed down for the others. He doesn't look very big in TDK or TDKR (I know he wasnt a twig I was just insinuating he wasn't very big.)
Evans in the first Cap film was around 205. He only slimmed down majorly in the first Avengers (where he wasn't very big) but gained more mass for TWS and AOU but was still smaller than in the first film (where he was biggest).
Either way Affleck is the best Batman we've had physically. Same with Cavill as Superman.
@theincrediblesuperhulk8642: I did some digging and Routh was not small. His weight as Superman is listed as 220lbs @ 6"3, literally the exact same weight as Cavill.

In fact, Routh was bigger than Reeve, who was 212lbs as Superman (up from his natural 188 pounds).
@frozen: but he contradicts himself. Saying at his heaviest he was 218. Maybe he was rounding for 220.
For Routh to have been the same size as Cavill he would need to have been 230 pounds (or Cavill to be 210). For every inch you have its an extra 5 pounds of weight. Rough was the same weight as Cavill who is 6'1 (Cavill weighed more for BvS).
That's quite a difference. So in fact Cavill was 5 pounds heavier in MOS (he was around 215) and 15 pounds heavier for BvS (around 225).
Reeves wasn't very big that everyone knows. The only thing he lacked as Superman was the muscle mass.
