Lex Luthor. For years I didn't understand why people thought he was such a great villain, but after reading some Superman comics and watching Smallville (don't judge me--Lex is the best thing about that show), I began to realize how incredibly intelligent and manipulative he was. That makes him a really interesting villain. I just wish his movie portrayals were better. Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey both did good jobs in their roles, but the villain plans are stupid.

He is essentially Superman. He was a gift to mankind sent by the heavens. He single-handedly made Metropolis 'The City of Tomorrow'...but then along came Superman, and everyone just blindly worshipped the guy within minutes, while Lex had spent a lifetime to earn his respect. The people of Metropolis forgot their first son.

I can't say I blame Lex at all.
