who would he of voted for?
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
What political views would superman have?
I like to think Superman is A-political. Even as Clark Kent the reporter wouldn't have a political bias, like how journalist use to be along time ago. All I know is Superman would never vote for Lex Luther for President.....
Golden Age Superman was a New Dealer. Beyond that, Superman is what we want him to be. As is Batman. Are you conservative? Then I suppose in your eyes, Superman would be too. Are you liberal? Then likewise. That's the great thing about him and other characters. We can and are allowed to project our own thoughts onto them.
Realistically, he'd be a moderate conservative based on where he grew up and how his parents were. He'd be a real conservative and not one of those crazy neo-cons you see on CNN and Fox News.
He would be a centrist, his views would straddle along both of the major party lines and IMO would not identify himself with either one.
But we can all agree Batman voted Romney, cause you can't afford billion dollar Bat Jets and pay fair tax rates.
I wouldn't say he'd be a full-blooded patriot, but I wouldn't say his political view would be largely apathetic. I think as others say, his views are that of the writer/reader, but personally I'd say he'd have a basic, law abiding view. He has his own morals and perception of justice in the world, and if pushed far enough, some might say he'd have the capacity to break laws if it meant that a bad person could be punished while the good are protected and rewarded, but, he gets his perception of the law from whatever government (mainly American) is in charge at the time, so, as the ruling body changes and laws are adjusted, so does the Man of Steel have a perception change.
With the reboot of his back story, I can safely say that during that time, he would be aware that the ruling body was flawed and probably needed a living example of what it should be.
