Superman which was 5th last month didn't even get 10th this month what do you guys think the reason was
Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18942 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
superman didn't make top ten most selling comics July 2014
@saint_wildcard: the most likely reason unchained never reached top ten is because its been though so many delays
I am sure some one is going to blame Man of Steel.
Freacking people.
It could be people dont care, since Dc is into the give everything to Batman Mode.
@saint_wildcard: the most likely reason unchained never reached top ten is because its been though so many delays
True but still, it was on every top ten list when it came out. This one broke the streak, not that I care about Unchained anyway.
4 Number Ones. Unchained also didn't make it to the top 10
Nothing. Action hasn't been in the top 10 since Morrison left, but Pak is bringing it back. Superman by Johns went up against Batman by Snyder.
Even i I knew that that wasn't going to do well. Plus, people buy Marvel event books and, for some reason, Guardians of the Galaxy sold well?
Not really surprising. When new superhero flick is coming out, for a time all attention centered on it; even people who usually not into comics might pick up movie-related prints. Give it month or two – and some of Supes’ titles will be in top-10 list.
I am sure some one is going to blame Man of Steel.
... or Doomed event.
Or The 52.
Or the fact he isnt using his underwear.
^ this made me lol....
On a serious note, I blame the writers for being lazy. Majority of them aren't creative enough to generate a feeling of genuine conflict and tension for Superman, without relying on crappy plot devices (mind control or kryptonite for example). In some ways I think Superman should leave Earth, as they have a better opportunity to really mess with him off planet. Instead of always putting Earth and/or Metropolis in danger, they can really make an effort of him being in danger, and create genuine tension.
Doomed
Doomed is why SM/WW was in 13 last month though :p
@saint_wildcard: I don't even read superman comics right now or pay attention to top tens or whatever I was just trolling lol
I'm not really surprised.
There were some bad decisions in terms of story writting. Not all writers delivered what was expected of them.
And of course with this Guardians of The Galaxy thing, it was more than expected that people woud start paying more attention to Marvel than DC comics.
Jeez ppl it's not doom and gloom, just look at the list, look at comics in general.the pie is getting bigger, and there is way more choices to buy now,so if your book is 67th it might still be considered a success.not to mention the top ten are full of event, movie, bats books.
Course I will agree unchained dropped the ball being so late
Your Back?! Lots of people be coming back all of a sudden.
The pricks that were after us are out, the geist invasion is over and it looks its time to the return of the dead.
I was out like 7 or 8 months.
Our heads had a price.
Also wishwassuperman, i know 3 guys that arent buying Superman for the undewear thing.
Superman underwear is serious business.
@deathpoolthet1000 funny enough I've been off for about the same amount of time. And yes, I realise underwear is serious business. Especially if you wear it wrong. Backwards g-strings are no joke...
