Superman
Character » Superman appears in 18939 issues.
Sent to Earth as an infant from the dying planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the loving Kent family and raised in America's heartland as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar-fueled powers, he became Superman to defend mankind against all manner of threats while championing truth, justice, and the American way!
Main differences between post New 52 Superman and pre Superman?
So far, he isn't portrayed as nearly as powerful as he used to be, his parents died when he was younger so he grew up being a little more abrasive as seen in Action Comics, his costume's origin is completely different aside from his cape. As far as we can tell, his powers have remained the same.
@azza04:
I havent seen anything different with his powers. Supergirl is the only one with a change.
Also, on that note, Ive been thinking that maybe female kryptonians act like a blue lantern to male kryptonians. Kara has been shown to be able to expel sunlight from her body so maybe she could use this to supercharge Superman??
his origin story is a combination of 2 older ones
krypton has high gravity and jor el purposely sends him to a planet with yellow sunlight and a weaker gravitational pull so that he would "appear to float"

He's a good guy but less boyscout. He not only at least move planets but he is capable of shaking them with his bare hands. I say new 52 superman is slightly stronger than Post Crisis but for now, DC needs to show him in other stories and good ones.
I hope Scott Snyder and Greg Pak can bring justice to this character.
@gungunw: Feats have to build up, besides he said that Supernovas are no big deal to him and benching the earth is a feat not seen in Pre Flashpoint. Also there was those He'l punches he was doing.
N52 version is younger, quick to combat, kind of a dick sometimesPreN52 version is wiser, kinder, would rather talk through a problem if it seems valid, sees the best in people
as far as who was stronger id say PreN52 but based solely on the fact that he seems older and therefore has absorbed more sunlight
as far as N52 books....the only one worth reading right now imo is Unchained. (im not a fan of Scott Lobdell and as of now he has hold of the 2 big Superman titles). Though I don't hate Superman/Batman and Greg Pak on Action in November is promising to me.
There are alot...ermmm he is a bit less boyscout, Jonathan and Martha are dead, his costume is different (Kryptonian armour) he's not married to Lois Lane, his powers a slighty different. Theres loads of other little things that are different.
How are his powers different?

What was the change in her powers?
@toptom: It was in Superman, It was before fighting Orion, when he was going to a Lois's party.
@thetimestreamer: Watch the language mate.
The Pre-52 Superman (including every incarnation from his first appearance right up to the New 52) looked like Superman.
The New 52 Superman looks like a late teenage / LSH
Superboy.
This. DC turned him an angry pretty boy character, no more Truth, Justice and the American Way, just punching through your problems and somehow people think that's cool.
Most distinct differences are: Kents are dead, his costume now is ceremonial uniform of kryptonians, his sensor abilities a little changed and he never was in relationship with Lois Lane.
But overall differences can be summed up in following pics:
New 52= The new Superboy Prime
He is not whining, throwing hissy feats and “killing to death” enough to warrant title of Prime.
Pre-Flashpoint Superman was a role model and a character DC could be proud of.
Post-Flashpoint Superman is brash, trigger happy (with his fists), and has no good morals.

fixed
@allstarsuperman: Respectable edit, I'll settle with it, lol
@arturocalakayvee: okay, I still liked the grant Morrison run on action comics.
@allstarsuperman: Whoah, whoah, don't get me wrong, I thought Morrison's run was amazing. I just..can't get over the lack of morals part.
@arturocalakayvee: well he lost his parents early is kind of the excuse. he still had the no kill rule, he just acted more like golden age supes.
Well I wouldnt say that. But Grant Morrison gave a great explanation on the Superman Panel, saying that if Superman is darker its because the times are darker. Its also most likely why Billy Batson isnt saying Golly Gee and isnt a happy orphan boy anymore.
@hero92: shooting at some one and grabbing the bullet is really no different then throwing them of a building and catching them?
@allstarsuperman: He caught the bullet? Then yes I guess they are the same. But I would say N52 Superman throwing the dude of the building was funnier, Golden Age Superman looked mad.
@hero92: yeah, golden didn't kill people directly, but he did kill. like he would shoot at you, but then catch the bullet to scare you. or he would throw people through walls and off buildings and such. I don't think he ever killed with his hands. he did watch a guy suffocate from toxic gas though.
Some say pre-flashpoint superman is more powerful but i think the new is.
The new one is smarter or more intelligent, faster, stronger,as equal durability or more because of the Armour.
The pre-flastpoint superman has more energy projection and is more skilled fighter and faster in some ways meaning combat/reaction speed ,but overall not as fast meaning travel speed,so that's why i say rebooted new52 superman is more powerful.

No he wasn't. Kara wanted nothing to do with him and Conner died not long after they had their big meeting.
