    .... In the current issue of Unchained, Wraith says something to Superman about using heat vision on max heat, 5,000 degrees, which is pretty hot, but in the Injustice Gods story Superman lobotomised Shazam's skull, which given his durability level's must surely mean it is significantly hotter than this! Anyone know definitely how hot it can be. Does it get hotter the angrier Superman is?!

    5000 degrees is sun surface temp which is insanely hot, exceeding that within earths atmosphere would spell disaster.

    I think it can definitely go hotter than that but not more than a couple thousand degrees.

    When people say hotter than the sun they mean surface temp. His eyes can't go the temp of the suns core(Atleast not under normal conditions) cuz that kind of temperature is crazy. I read somewhere a piece of the suns core the size of a pinhead can give off enough heat to kill someone 160 km away....yea supes isn't going that hot anytime soon,silver age maybe.

    Centre of sun is like 27,000,000 degrees or something, I don't think its that hot! If it was, I'm guessing it would evaporate anything it touched...

    Some readers display their youth. Back in the 60s as a teenager (i.e., SuperBoy) Kal El threw together a pile of asteroids and planetary debris and used his heat vision to ignite it as a new sun. So clearly it is (or was) capable of reaching fusion ignition temperatures.

    The first one has his heat vision matching Absolute Zero

    The second one was the heat vision outputting enough energy to power a machine that moves a planet 16x the mass of that of the planet.

    @josteinfleurme65:

    Really!? Do you have the scans showing that fact?

    One of Superman greatest problems is that his energetic powers don't match his physical attributes. For someone able to stand at the heart of a star like it was a walk in the park, or move the mass of our entire planet like he was simply lifting normal weights... He should be able to apply so much energy to his heat and x-ray visions that nothing could resist his powers or even block them, and by block them I'm referring to led. His x-rays vision should be able to see through anything. His heat vision should pack the destructive force of at least the entire surface of the sun blowing in someone's face.

    But we don't see that. Any of that. It's like he's mentally limited to how much energy he can apply to each power.

    @heavenlydarkdragon: I don't know about x-ray vision, but his heat vison is easily that powerful, through scaling.

    @josteinfleurme65:

    It is and it isn't.

    For example when facing Brainiac worldship, he was able to fire such an extensive and powerful heat vision blast that it could've easily blown half of the Earth to pieces, but then we got him facing Batman Justice League buster armor and the shields from the armor could easily block his heat vision.

    It's discrepancies like that that make power levels very hard to analyse.

    It's more than just one scan can show.

    Lets get things into prespective.

    First Brainiac worldship compared to the Earth in size.

    No Caption Provided

    Second. Superman blast of heat vision and how wide it was.

    No Caption Provided

    Third, the heat vision initially hits the ship to pretend a direct attack and then Superman diverts the attack to Earth were it's then used to power a counter strike to destroy the worldship shields.

    No Caption Provided

    And this is it. I can't keep uploading more images or I'll risk having the mods remove all of this.

    But you can read again this comic alone and see if it matches what I'm saying or not.
