The opening on Krypton and everyone there having superpowers was consistent for the time. Where it goes off the rails is him reaching adulthood while the ship was enroute to Earth (growing from infant to adult in complete isolation), and after saving a father and son from a trolley accident, the father quickly suggests he become a reporter and the son picks the name "Clark Kent" out of thin air for him to use as a disguise. Action Comics had his origin as a baby on Earth in the first panels, with Ma and Pa Kent added to the backstory a year later in Superman #1 before the show went to air. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
