Well, Grant Morrison had him win the concept of death and darkness by singing... so not him.

When did they work on him together? And did Grant write an other cannon superman story outside of New 52?

What counts as a canon story? He gets retconned all the time lol.

Either way I loved Mark Waid's Birthright.

Grant Morrison and Joe Kelly. I love Waid's Superman but Kelly wrote some truly brillaint, character defining arcs on Superman during his Action Comics run. I love how he depicts Superman in his writing which is strange given Kelly's penchant for writing darker and grittier stories.

@2cool4fun: Geoff Johns run is pretty good for what I have read.

Superman Brainiac is one of my favorites

Secret Origin has the definitive look for Supes, IMO

Superman and the Legion of Superheroes is also a good read.

@ultimatesmfan: It was a joint effort with Kurt Busiek so I suppose Busiek should get half the acclaim technically but still it's clear where Johns' influence comes in and how well he understands and writes Superman.

Johns had success with Brainiac and Last Son. Waid wrote my absolute favourite Superman story. Alone Moore killed it with Superman on several occasions. Grant Morrison did great work in both pre and post New 52.

I'm expecting Pak to rake in the top spot quickly.
