Lex Luthor, Superman's arch-nemesis, is one of the most brilliant men alive, whose hatred of "interfering aliens" pushes him down the path of a sociopath. Known for his "ends justifies the means" approach to life, his single-minded and often brutal focus puts him at odds with The Man of Steel. Luthor is arguably DC Comics' most iconic villain.
Lois Lane is a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist for the Daily Planet of Metropolis. She was the first reporter to interview Superman after he first appeared in Metropolis. Superman later revealed his secret identity to her; the two married and have a son, Jon Kent.
An evil clone of Superman, created by Lex Luthor with Nuclear powers. Nuclear Man appeared in Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, in both the comic and movie.
The City Editor of the Daily Planet, the newspaper where Clark Kent (Superman) works. A gruff and hard taskmaster, but a very loveable character.
Directed by Sidney J. Furie, staring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, Gene Hackman, and Mariel Hemingway. While Superman visits his old home he finds his ship and inside there is an energy crystal that Lara tells him he can only use once. The Daily Planet is sold and Perry White is fired. With the threat of Nuclear War he heads to the Fortress to discuss intervention with his ancestors, who suggest that he leave earth and find a new home. Superman disagrees and starts destroying the nuclear weapon, throwing them into the sun. Lex Luthor makes a clone of Superman and names him the Nuclear Man. Superman gets radiation poisoning from him and becomes very sick. Superman uses his energy crystal to revive himself and eventually beats the Nuclear Man. Perry White takes out a loan and buys out the Daily Planet. This is the last movie Christoper Reeve stars in as he soon becomes paralyzed after a horseback riding accident. This would mark the end for Superman Live Action Movies until 2006's Superman Returns
