    What Happened To Superman? 7

Superman is still out walking around trying to get back in touch with the people. Then things start to take a turn.  The Good For the past few issues, Superman's been doing the same thing. He's been walking across America helping people out with their little problems. We haven't really seen Superman deal with any major villains but now we're starting to see something happening. The ending has a bit of a twist that could really turn this arc on its side.  The Bad I appreciate that the idea here w...

JMS May Be Gone, But His Plot Still Doesn't Work 2

This issue is the first where Chris Roberson steps in to steer the ship along J. Michael Straczynski's plotted course on the Grounded story arc, which has already divided a lot of people even when JMS was at the wheel. A number of dissatisfied Superman fans are going to come to this issue looking to see if Roberson's touch improves what they view as a plodding story arc of Superman moping his way across the United States.  It doesn't.  Superman's behavior is worse than ever. He has become so fil...

Truth, Justice, and the American Way. Oy Vey. 0

Summary: During a slow afternoon in Des Moines, Iowa, Superman dicusses his doubts about,“Truth, Justice, and the American Way” with Lois over the phone while she’s off doing something somewhere in Kansas. Just then, they both hear a loud explosion on Lois’s end and Superman is there in the nick of time to contain a raging fire at a rapidly burning chemical plant. Later, he is inclined to make a questionable decision after learning a few of the plant’s dirty secrets. The Nitty Gritty: Okey Dok...

Grounded is a little Grounded 0

For this issue's summary saying that there was some Horrible secret awaited to be discovered, this so called Horrible secret wasn't so horrible in my opinion. I must say the last few issue of Superman, have (In my Opinion) been a little on the mixed side. I wasn't thrilled with the idea Straczynki was putting foward, and even though he's not writing the book anymore, his main idea for grounded is still there. What I liked: It was an interesting premise to have Superman save people's job, rather ...

    Indecisive Superman 0

After reading this issue, I'm still a fan of Superman but think this Grounded storyline could have been shorten, simply going to different towns won't change the environmental problems or politicsThe times have changed since Superman could threaten corrupt politicians or corrupt businesspeople.  Now it's down to the lesser of two evils which explains why he hesitated.I have a feeling that the Superheroes might show Superman a future or an alternative world as a way to make him recommit to his Tr...

    Still Grounded... 0

Is it just me, or is this story dragging along nice and slow? Seven issues in, and Grounded still seems to be going nowhere. This is part five to the arc, which included two interlude filler issues. It really does seems as if Superman has no idea as to why he is doing what he's doing. In this issue, we see Superman walking by Iowa, while on the phone with Lois Lane, who for some reason is wearing a Tomb Raider inspired outfit. Lois is in Kansas investigating a case to write about in The Daily Pl...

Sometimes things aren't always black and white... 0

After a good but pointless last issue, Superman #707 sees a new writer join the creative team. Chris Roberson, better known for his Clockwork novels and Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love miniseries. JMS’s name is still on the book as his plot is being used but Roberson is scripting and possibly advancing on the Grounded storyline. Will his debut be any good? Synopsis Superman travels to Kansas to avert a power plant fire only to be faced with a moral dilemma about the plant’s environmental ...
