The Good

It's no wonder this is an oversized issue. It's packed with so much Superior Spidery goodness. We have SpOck trying to claim the Venom symbiote for himself. This is bad news for Flash Thompson who recently discovered he needs the symbiote to survive now. While Ock is fighting for control, he also has the Avengers coming after him. If all that wasn't enough, there's a whole bunch of Goblin chaos brewing with the self-appointed "Goblin King" and his court and the Hobgoblin.

Dan Slott and Christos Gage keep the story fast paced with plenty of action going on while the tension is rising between the Hobgoblin and Green Goblin. We get to see the birth of a new Goblin and it's all getting uglier and uglier. There are also new developments for the future of this series that shouldn't be missed.

Humberto Ramos has a knack for capturing the vibe of big action during fight scenes. You'll want to take notice of the way he draws people's reactions such as with Blaze, Hobgoblin or Carlie Cooper.

There may have been a little news about Spider-Man lately and that actually adds to the excitement here. With the way Slott has been placing the tiniest clues that come into fruition months later, you'll want to be sure to comb over every panel, just in case.

The Bad

The feeling that things are coming to an end soon is unfortunate. If only we could live in a world where spoilers and events don't have to be announced months before they happen.

I dig Humberto Ramos' art but I've never really been a fan of the gigantic, amped up Venom (that many have drawn over the years). Trying to figure out how a person can fit inside and where their head or arms are always causes a distraction.

The Verdict

Fans have been wanting a confrontation between Venom and Superior Spider-Man and that's what we get here. This is where you'll find out the fate of Flash Thompson and Superior Spider-Man joining with the Venom suit. It's fitting that this is an over-sized issue because there is so much action and story plots going on. While we have the main story, we also have a lot building in the background. Humberto Ramos captures the excitement required from the script and there's so much to see in each panel. Superior Spider-Man's story is getting bigger and faster but there's still no telling what's coming next. Reading this is just so much fun.

Cant wait to get my hands on this. Hoping Spider and Venom duke it out and the return of Norman Osborne. I can't wait.

My only hope is

That Carlie doesn't fully join the Goblin side, even considering the change she's gone through and that there is still a way for the return to her former self.

Ramos' art is horrible. I must say that Slott turned me around on this, but suffering through that art has been a task in itself. I mean, if I wanted Manga I'd buy it. Look at how ridiculous Spider-Woman looks in the big splash page battle. She looks just slightly larger than a stick figure!

Really why did they put Thor in this issue? To make him look insignificant to Superior Venom Spider-Man? C'mon Marvel you need to stop doing that, might as well not put them in that comic at all which would have worked just as well...other than that okay issue. 3/5 in my opinion.

I don't understand why people don't like Ramos' art...I love it! Also I liked how Slott explained why MJ never really saw how Peter was acting so differently....she could somehow sense Peter inside deep down and only started to suspect things after issue 9

Best issue in the series so far. There is so much going on it leaves the reader wanting more. Slott has done an amazing job with Superior Spider-Man.

where the hell did Peter come from? and everyone destroying the Spiderbots?! uh oh, here comes the return of the Inferior Spiderman!!
