    After his final battle with the Joker, Batman is presumed dead, and after two months of his absence the Gotham City Police Department and Powers Industries decide the city needs a new Dark Knight, and recruit Commissioner James Gordon to don a robotic Batman suit in an effort to help the city.

    Overview

    Superheavy is the Batman creative team of writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo's fifth full arc of the series, following the conclusion of Endgame, which ended in the apparent death of both Batman and Joker. The storyline debuted in DC's 2015 Free Comic Book Day offering Divergence FCBD Special Edition #1, where it was revealed that James Gordon was the man underneath the robotic Batsuit. The storyline would begin in full with the release of June 2015's Batman #41 and would shift tones and ideas for various other Batman related books during the same month.
