I wish they would've handled this show better from the jump. Never made sense to be on CBS and then they still ended up sloppily merging it with The Flash. Now it's on CW. I'll try it again if they put it on Hulu.
Superman Coming to Season 2 of Supergirl
I'm hoping including Superman also means a possible merger of the universes, this way you get certain aspects of Smallville and Supergirl intertwined with the other shows. Imagine the frustration of noncomic fans.
@indomitableregal: If they could have Batman there would very likely be no Arrow
I know, but someone needs to show up and remind him of what he used to be lol. Ollie's too at peace. We need the somber, morose Ollie who was hesitant about teammates and fought his villains alone. The one who we complained was too much like Batman...that guy lol.
Cool! Still not going to watch Supergirl. -_-
Feel free to have Batman show up in the main Flarrowverse.
Batman would really crap out the tone of the shows. Nightwing or Robin (and establishing that the 'urban legend' Batman is real, at least to fans, would be awesome though.)
@indomitableregal: :) Exactly
@mutant_god: Jon Hamm is a great actor. He should stay far far away from Supergirl.

A blogger I follow made a tweet guessing that Superman will basically tell Kara he's going into space for some time in his two episode cameo thus removing any further plot holes as to why he doesn't come and bail Kara out like when the Kryptonians tried to take over National City.
aka the thing fans said they should have done from the get go, if they don't have him show up and use superman storylines for the supergirl plot.
So now that Supergirl is on CW are they going to do a COIE and combine her universe with Flash/Arrows?
Probably the result of the flashpoint storyline on flash and the four show crossover at the beginnings of the next seasons they apparently want to do.

To me that still doesn't make sense. Kryptonians are one of the most powerful beings in the universe. Having one bad Superman running around would be a huge threat. Having a whole group of bad Supermen running around would be a crisis situation. It doesn't make sense for Superman to just leave Kara alone to handle it. Also, wouldn't Superman really want to make contact with the other Kryptonians? For a long time, he thought he was the only survivor but now he knows he's not alone. Because of all these problems, I always thought that having Kryptonians be the main villians in the Supergirl TV show was a mistake.
I'm calling it. Nicolas Cage's dream comes true.
Dope
@geewhiz: Believe me, I don't actually disagree with your reasons, it wasn't a good choice to make the villains a group of fellow Kryptonians when, in any normal circumstance, Superman would have involved himself to make contact with his fellow Kryptonians. Not to mention that this would really have been too out of hand for an amateur inexperienced hero to deal with herself and warrants Superman's attention. That's why this possible theory makes sense in getting Superman out of the way so he can't come and help.
@the_stegman: They could have used an image of Christopher Reeve, I suppose.
I was hoping they'd simply stop talking about him all the time.
I'm watching Supergirl, I don't really care what Superman is doing...
It's about time. Hopefully this leads to the CW shows getting to actually use characters being used in films (like Suicide Squad and Deathstroke in Arrow) again.
Deathstroke in a film?

Apparently that's why they don't use him anymore, because they have plans for him in an upcoming film. In a Q&A Guggenheim said that “The character of Slade Wilson is currently tied up in another DC project."
