Kara In The Big Apple.
Synopsis: Kara takes on the World Killers in the Big Apple.
Not only does Kara have to take on one World Killer, but three more all in New York. The story itself is simply a fight for survival as Kara does everything in her power to stop them while protecting the innocent. Well, that's not entirely true. There's also the fact that Kara is thinking more logically. Instead of recklessly going about the World Killers, she understands that she's outnumbered, and that there are civilians around. Kara has finally understand that it's not about her anymore.
What I do find very intriguing is what Reign revealed to Kara at the end about there being a fifth World Killer. It makes me think that there will be a mixture to Kara's background from the old DC Universe to the new 52. In the old universe, Kara's father experimented with her. What's to say he hasn't done that in the New 52, making her the fifth World Killer? She already demonstrated some new powers that Superman doesn't have (I don't think he has unless there's been a change in the New 52).
I hope Mahmud Asrar sticks around even longer. He's been hitting it out the park when it comes to the artwork. While the story is simple, it's really the artwork that brings out this action filled issue. There's a lot of emotion in the way Kara fights against the World Killers, and Even the smallest of detail is there like when Kara smashes Reign with a police car and the contents spill out. And I especially loved the last page with Kara slouching posture of victory. The coloring also plays a role heightening the action even further.
Overall:
Now that the threat of World Killers have been avoided for now, it appears that Kara will finally settle on Earth. The question is how. Will she adapt like her cousin? Will she go to high school? Will she find a boyfriend? It's these questions that makes this series exciting although, this experience has already happen in the previous Supergirl volume. It doesn't hurt to see her story unfold once more.
