The future can't be that bad...right?
What's Good?
I'm glad that Jeff Lemire touches back on previous events like the mysterious farmers, and he does a nice job doing so by adding in Psionic Lad. I'm not really a huge fan of people from the future coming to the present kind of story lines, but I'll make this a slight exception. Psionic Lad's future is a bit clique with the whole dark times angle, but this too I can forgive just because the end of this issue I did not expect.
Pier Gallo's style of artwork gets a bit eccentric at times with the different style of panels and frames, but it's still decent for my tastes. The close up of people's faces are the highlight points.
What's Bad?
Not that much happens action wise in this issue other than the beginning.
Did it really have to take Cassie and Conner to break up just for him to talk to Lori? I complain about this just because of what happened in the recent issue of Teen Titans. It just feel like a set up for Conner to have a true new beginning for this series and for him to find a new love interest towards Lori (Despite how weird that is).
Overall: The event I've been waiting on since Conner suggested it in last issue is coming in the next issue. But beside that, the newly added character of Psionic Lad makes things a bit more interesting than it already has been. I'm hoping Lemire takes things a little bit slower since all these different stories are presented.
