The Super-Adaptoid was created by AIM members who specialized in biochemical research. It was composed of unstable molecules invented by Reed Richards and empowered with a sliver of the Cosmic Cube, making it a quasi-sibling of Kubik. The Super-Adaptoid was initially 'the Adaptoid.' Its primary purpose was to defeat Captain America, which it achieved by disguising itself as Jarvis and drugging some of Captain America's coffee. However, the Adaptoid was then defeated by the Tumbler, who thought it to be the real Captain America. The Adaptoid became the 'Super-Adaptoid' after the other Avengers (Goliath, Wasp, and Hawkeye) examined it.
