more obscure, i guess

Define A-list.

I like seeing new obscure characters I never heard of but that probably wouldn't sell.

I honestly don't mind, as long as it is well written

I don't mind a mixture of A-list villains and lesser known villains coming together for Suicide Squad.

Harley is A-List for being Jokers(thus Batman) girlfriend. She really isn't on the level with the rest of the Squad.

I like where they got. Young Justice did something amazing in showing how guys like Deathstroke/Sportsmaster(MadDog)/Cheshire stood in a world of gods. Deadshot/Boomerang/Katana are these sort of guys in skill. The metas around them are sorta low to mid tier. But, more importantly, the type of characters fit. Some guys regardless of power level want to rule all(Lex/Savage/Despero). Some want to take over cities for rule or mayhem(Joker/Grodd) and some are just crimminals.

Crimminals, regardless of power level, fit the squad.

Manta doesn't feel like a crimminal. He wants Atlantis for rule or mayhem.
