    Synopsis

All-out riot at Belle Reeve super prison! How will Deadshot and the Suicide Squad quell the carnage?

    The Good

There is more character development in this issue; we see the more humane side of Deadshot as well as El Diablo swapping out whining about redemption all the time in exchange for incinerating the multitudes of prisoners who won't step down (warning, some of those panels are pretty gruesome!).

Amanda Waller also shows she is capable of compromising with the team, and in particular going out of her way to set something good up for Deadshot. It's nice to see that at the end of the day, the harsh Task Force X "controller" isn't just do this and order that all the time!

There is again another casualty, and I'll admit I didn't see that one coming! Shame though, I was starting to warm towards that particular character.

That last page I really liked, it quickly and efficiently explained where the story is going next (for those who haven't read #6 and #7's solicitations) and I am really forward to it!

    The Bad

You can clearly guess who was responsible for the riot in the first place, if you've read then previous issue (or next month's synopsis). Once we find out "whodunnit", we don't find out how it was done merely that is has and we swiftly move on to the next story arc. I would of much preferred it if we say how said villain "got away with it"!

The reader also by now gets that something is certainly wrong with King Shark (as demonstrated well in this issue), but I think dragging this sub-plot through further without any sort of development on why he is acting so strangely needs to be addressed soon.

    Conclusion

Aside from sweeping over some information important for the reader to know, a solid issue which continues to develop this oddball series as one of my favourites of the New 52! :)

      It's Just Been Revoked 0

I have plenty to say about this issue, but a lot of it is glossed over by a cardinal sin against a certain favorite character of mine who's already suffered plenty in the New 52. Now, if you recall, when the series began, I revoked Amanda Waller's name privileges, because DC removed everything that made her 'The Wall.' Not just the weight, but any semblance of intimidation. Thus she became 'Amanda Er.' Then two issues ago I awarded her an extra 'l' towards her old name, but I'm instantly revokin...

Dead out in the open like this 0

There have been in the history of cinema a few real time movies, where the action unfolds at the exact same pace as the person watching it experiences it.  In terms of comics though, I am not sure if such an approach has ever been attempted before, or at least one which happened in such a way appreciably.  Anyway assuming that it takes around 10 minutes to read a comic (though probably a little less) then this occurs almost exclusively in real time as the Squad has ten minutes to stop the prison...
