Suicide Squad #12
Fernando Dagnino does an amazing job penciling this book. His style is very simple but with the lines he uses it makes the whole image look much more complex. I really like the expressions on the faces of the characters because it reveals a lot about the characters. The backgrounds are also REALLY cool. The story is trying really hard and in some places it accomplishes that. I really like how they go to the little camp that Regulus. I also think that the return of Captain Boomerang was an interesting twist that I think made the issue better. This whole issue sets up for the dramatic reveal of the traitor for the cover so you are excited reading the whole issue.
THE BAD:
Black Spider... The writer has wrote him to where I loved the character because he was new but interesting to me. I think that this issue was just an AWFUL way to use the character. I think that if there was another traitor the whole issue could have been much more interesting and climactic. The ending, is suspenseful, but I think that if it goes where the writer is going to take it, is making a big mistake.
THE VERDICT: 3/5 (Good)
Suicide Squad is a fun book to read. There is always the looming of a character dying and that keeps me on edge to where I will come back. However, it's not especially a good of memorable read. If you have extra money and want a great suspense book this is something that you are going to want to read. The characters are interesting, when handled right, and the plots are very deep and extreme.
