Expecting Kiefer Southerland to Guest Star

Let's not talk about this horribly crowded and stuffy cover. I mean, COME ON! Look at that mess! Sigh.

Interior art's nice, it's no Frederico Dallaccio, but Fernando Dagnino handles the tone almost as well. Unfortunately it's this moment that I realized a fundamental problem with this series thus far. There's no change of pace. I don't feel like 'anything goes' for this team because just about every issue takes place in repetitive buildings. The old Suicide Squad went to exotic locales constantly, this feels like it's trying to set these villains in the universe of 24 or something. I like 24 though, but these characters don't live in that world, they don't fit. It's weighing this series down with repetitive tones.

Harley's back, and channeling shades of her Gotham City Sirens portrayal. Is she more sane? It's hard to say, and that uncertainty is awesome.

Other than that, pretty much every character feels like a blur here. They do stuff, and it helps the team reach the end of the story arc. But aha! A cliffhanger at the end!? A cliffhanger the reveals that there's a TRAITOR on the team? What's that? Why didn't I spoiler tag that? Gee, maybe it's because THAT WAS THE CLIFFHANGER TWO ISSUES AGO! Issue #8 spent its entirety making that point, it's not a shocker now, especially as a cliffhanger.

Well, there is the return of Yo-yo, who I'm, beginning to love. Dude's just kind of odd, and.... ok maybe I just love him for the spark of Wall he brings out in Amanda Er. Probably that.

I REALLY hope what's teased here isn't true. Black Spider's the REALLY obvious choice for Basilisk mole. If it turns out to be him I'm throwing down that issue and probably giving it a 2/5. I can't know for certain, but he's an obvious candidate to a stupid degree, and this issue only adds to that.

    In Conclusion: 3/5

Points for a decidedly 'Wall'-ish Amanda, despite the failure in her last issue; but points off for the realization that the locales in this series are either dull or depicted that way. And Black Spider DAMN WELL better NOT be the mole.

And King Shark needs a miniseries.

THE GOOD: I really like the art in this issue. Fernando Dagnino provides the art and he knows how to draw these characters. He also manages to make everything look interesting. I also really like the colors in this series. It manages to make the whole book be much darker and I think that is what a title like this needs. The story is amazing. They are on the trail of people robbing Gendreon and the team is suppose to get the ransomer back to Amanda Waller. Well things don't go right and some amaz...
