All She Wanted Was a Puppy 2

Sigh. Look, it's better than the Green Lantern banner because I get the point of this one. It's not hyping a movie that didn't need extra hype, and its for a good cause. But it doesn't change the fact that the "We Can Be Heroes" banner is a huge detriment to the covers its on.Farewell Paul Cornell.... Hello Paul Jenkins? It might just be me, but things didn't feel as smooth as when Cornell was writing. I could just be biased, I really like Paul Cornell, and I know very little of Paul Jenkins. It...

A Daemonite named Charlie? 0

(No Spoilers)We trade one Paul in for another as new writer Paul Jenkins takes over the reigns from Paul Cornell. Jenkins is set to do a short two-issue story but he quickly shows us that he's going to make the most of this little stint. Mix that in with some great art by guest artist Ignacio Calero and you've got another solid issue of this great series!People joked that the end of Cornell's run portrayed Stormwatch as an amalgamation of The Authority and Planetary. I think that sense continues...

Stormwatch As It Should Have Been 4

Warning: This wasn't a review when I first wrote it and I still don't consider it to really be one. It's me gushing. This is one of those times where I just want to say "Oh my God" like 50 times and have that be it. Of course, no one would understand what I mean by that so it would be pointless for me to actually post a blog with that as my content. Have no fear, I've already said it 50 times so now I can write. I hope.I think I'll start with: THIS IS WHAT I WANTED! What that means is this: I'm s...

New Writer = Meh 2

Like I state in most of my reviews, I am a new reader to DC. What little I know about Stormwatch Pre-New 52 is that it used to belong under a different DC imprint, either Wildstorm or Vertigo, but I don't remember which. So I realize this team has been merged into the mainstream DC Universe. With that being said, I find my interest waning every month. The GoodJack Hawksmoor. This character is easily my favorite on Stormwatch. The basis for his ability to communicate with the cities of the world i...

Geisha 0

This was one of the most unexpectedly good issues of the month and is easily the best of the series thus far.  It might betray it a little too much as well to go too much into the actual plot developments as the revelation of them is central to enjoying this issue.  What I can say though is that whereas the series thus far has been working off of a lot of characters which have shown very little personality, here those personalities have come to life - especially J'onn and Jenny - but the others ...

I give up, this book sucks monkey balls. 0

I tried to like this book but it is just no use anymore. This attempt at bringing back Stormwatch and cramming them into the DC Universe is just a terrible and boring book. It is a shadow of past Stormwatch/The Authority incarnations. Most of the characters are 2 dimensional and the others are goofy caricatures. The story lines are laughably bad. I feel like they are not so much existing in secret from the other DC superheroes but more likely Batman and Superman found these losers and decided if...
