I think the issue was quite good. The impact Yukio's betrayal had on her was nicely portrayed on panel, and seeing Storm recognize the everyday hero in the nurse, and making it a point to have the kidney the nurse was transporting be the priority over her own condition really demonstrated the kind of compassionate and relatable hero she is. I loved the use of her powers here as well. It was in the box and practical but used in a visually compelling and impactful way. Flying a 50 ton jet for 5 hours and at such high speed while sustaining significant injuries was pretty damn awesome. And I like that this issue sets up the next, which looks like this will span at 3 issues (6 - 8). My main criticism is the art. I was pleasantly surprised that over all the art was not bad (the preview scared me initially) but definitely felt like a step down from what were getting from Ibanez. Over all I'd give this issue a 8 - 9 out of 10.

I liked it. Solid story, decent art but I think the inking was heavy, cool display of power for Storm, and we get a light cliffhanger for next issue.

Agreed. Ibanez was just awesome on this book. Barrionuevo's art is ....OK, but no where near as good as Ibanez.

It was okay. The whole series has just been really okay and that's it.

The art in the book is great though. It's easily the best part of the book.

@jhazzroucher: Oh well it actually makes a lot of sense for X-Men fans to be a little resistant to this style of art since other then Wolverine the X-Men books are all just team books with really traditional art. In the past like 4 years Marvel has tried to make more and more of their solo title(Punisher, Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Black Widow, Elektra, Daredevil, Ghost Rider, Iron Fist, Rocket Raccoon, etc.) work and feel more like an Indy book then a main stream comics, so I'm pretty used to this style of art.

The real issue with the book so far is it's still just using episodes to tell the stories and isn't trying to just have one big overlapping well developed story about Storm as a person and pulling back on the super hero stuff we've all seen time and time again.

Well I've seen a good art before like Diogenes Neves in X-men Worlds Apart and Mike Deodato Jr in Original Sin.

You are right. Ibanez and the others are using a different art style, making the art more realistic. I'm a fan of it now but I really prefer characters to look good on every panel.

Unfortunately yes. He tweeted that issue 5 would be his last issue. I got a chance to see Barrionuevo's pencil work and I have to say he is pretty damn good. Changed my opinion on his art style, so it looks like the inking is the big take away from the art quiality vs the artist change over. But I would love to see Victor return but as of right now Barrionuevo and the inker from hell will be on the book through issue 9 as of now.

@thunderbolt30: I agree. Barrionuevo isn't too bad at all. His exclusive art from #8 is REALLY good. But we all know once the inker gets it, she's going to look like Chief Keef..
