DAVID HINE and DOUG BRAITHWAITE are re-united for Season One of this science-fiction crime thriller. A uniquely skilled team arrives on a frontier planet to investigate a series of bizarre and violent deaths. Forced to rely on primitive technology, they soon learn what it means to be aliens in a hostile environment. If they are to unravel the mysteries of Amaranth they will also have to learn what it is to be human.

I have five writers in my top-of-the-top ultimate category. The two who made it into that classification for me the fastest, are also the two least appreciated. One is John Rozum, and the other is David Hine. David Hine blew me away with his simultaneous first arc on Azrael and one arc on Detective Comics. This issue is just about as impressive, but on a much less flashy level.This cover, and the title honestly, grabbed me right away along with David Hine's name. THere's such a basic design, but...

What I LikedThis is a story that definitely needed more pages for the first issue. I like the concept and the story approach, but it just felt very cramped and not developed considering the amount of pages that were involved.The art work was beautiful.What I Didn't LikeThe story and art both needed to pan back.
