    Even though Carol Danvers was smarter then her brothers, her father didn't consider her worthy of a college degree. Their father could only afford to send one kid to college so Steve was chosen instead of Carol. Steve later was killed in Việt Nam. Joseph Danvers Sr. Devastated by the death of his son, became an alcoholic.
