Virgil Hawkins was exposed to a mutagenic gas that swept his city of Dakota, which gave him and other 'bang babies" superpowers. With the ability to control electromagnetism, Static joined the Teen Titans and continues to protect his city while serving on the team.
I would only like to see a Static movie if it was extremely well done with at least relatively well-known actors. Whoever would play Virgil/Static would have to pull off the character near perfectly. The story would have to be top notch with no cheesy dialogue.
Yes, but the only time people bring it up is if you race bend a white hero. People will say, "why don't you just make a Static move?" This is why. People are hypocrites.
I would like to see it, but realistically, I think a successful solo ongoing is needs to be established first.
The new 52 ongoing would've been successful from the start had DC just let John Rozum be in charge of the book instead of Scott McF**ckup. Oh well, I heard rumors that DC might have something planned for Static in the future, hopefully it's true.
Personally, I don't think a movie is necessary. There are plenty more heroes out there that deserve a movie before Static. I'm a little biased though, I never liked the show, and from what I have been told, he has a pretty weak comic book.
