One of the most critically and fan acclaimed DC superhero titles of the 1990's spinning out the Zero Hour event.
British writer James Robinson, along with the frequent art team of Tony Harris and Wade Von Grawbadger (and later Peter Snejbjerg) told over 80 issues of the Starman legacy and the unique residents of the fictional Opal City.
The series stars Jack Knight, son of the original Starman Ted Knight, who is reluctantly forced into the role of hero after his brother David Knight is killed taking on his father's legacy as Starman. Additionally, the series hosted a multitude of characters and heroes from previous generations such as the various members of the Justice Society of America and starring role for previously obscure Golden Age villain The Shade who became a break-out star of the title. The past and future, family, legacy, identity and heroism were all recurring themes within the book. Robinson finished his run with over 81 issues, including #0 issue and a #100000 issue plus a multitude of tie-ins.
