Obviously the Sith are evil by any moral standard. But out of all of them is there any that would have made a good leader? As we have learned from history good men do not necessarily make great kings. Is there any Sith that you can think of that would have made a successful leader? To kick things off I think Plagueis might have had the potential to be a good one. He didn't seem to be as insane as the others. His mind set tended to be a bit more pragmatic than evil as well.

The "galaxy far, far away" in which the Star Wars films and related works take place.
Which Sith would make the best ruler?
Well, Sidious and Valkorion are obvious choices for strong leaders (maybe not necessarily "good" leaders but strong nonetheless). However, Revan, Darth Nox/Second Emperor's Wrath, and Marka Ragnos would probably make the best rulers.
@alex7861able: The sith aren't evil.
@subbat321: "only the sith deal in absolutes". Jedi aren't squeaky clean
Sidious was by far the best Sith politician, he always found a way to keep things in check, even though he was a bloody tyrant the galaxy was more united under the his empire than with the previous senate and was only defeated because a small militia had the force plot on their side.
The other siths couldn't take over the entire galaxy and faced big resistence.
@kgb725: Erm what? You might be able to make the argument that some Sith are less evil than others. But the fact is as a general rule the Sith are evil. Evil isn't a cackling monster who does bad things for no reason. It's a person who does bad things despite knowing they shouldn't. Pretty much every Sith follows a version of the Sith code which places power above everything. So yes they are evil.
@alex7861able: Incorrect. Anakin believed the Jedi were evil because they were literally breaking their own code and were doing wrong themselves.
@kgb725: You realize that the guy you are referencing had just slaughtered a bunch of younglings right? And then you know choked his pregnant wife... If you want to claim that Jedi aren't perfect then go right ahead, but as a whole it's obvious to anyone that the Jedi are positive force in the universe. Why do you think Sidious first killed all the Jedi and then built his Empire? You realize that Jedi are literally responsible for over 1,000 years of peace before TPM right? If you're going to claim the Jedi are evil provide specific examples cause I can name plenty of examples when Sith committed heinous acts.
Well, I've seen stated somewhere that the only thing keeping the Empire from crumbling before it even began was Sidious's power; Maul was turning Mandalore into a warrior planet once again, and Vitiate led a Sith Emperor for thousands of years.
In the end, it comes to Sidious/Valkorion. But Maul could be too, given how he is not as evil as the two others I mentioned.
@alex7861able: No, the Sith aren't necessarily evil. They crave power and use their emotions, that's all. The degree of evilness depends on the individual, just as the jedi. Palpatine ordered the jedi killed because he knew the jedi would try to kill him. In this perspective, the jedi are as evil as sith, by killing a man just because of his view on the force.
About the topic, i believe Revan or Plagueis would be the best option, followed by Sidious, due to his competency. Is said that the galactic empire was just as a good place to love than the republic, if not better, for the common people.
I would never agree that the Sith are Evil. I will agree that there are Evil Sith. Passion and Emotion aren't evil. Denial of emotions isn't Good. The Jedi aren't Good either, tho again there are many Good Jedi. Jedi, if they were true to their actual teachings are supposed to be neutral. Maintaining Balance.
As to the topic...
Valkorian and Sidious ruled empires. They were both effective and charismatic while doing so. Great in fact. Both have a certain darkness to their motivations, but neither are inherantly evil. ...maybe Valkorian... lol. Sidious' elimination of the Jedi isn't a specifically evil act. Its a brilliant military strike. His method - brainwashing Anakin into doing it, and killing the younglings too - That was evil. Brilliant again, but evil.
Valkorion's a crap leader. He's pretty much crap at everything except being inferior to Palpatine.
That said, I'm going with the guy who obliterated the Jedi Order and gave the Sith full domination of the galaxy for the first time in their history.
Plaguies He knew how to run crap, Sidious ruined it, but if Plaguies was runing things the empire would have prospered, not been racist, and Alderann woud never have been destroyed in short plaguies would've ruled unquestioned forever and rather than demonstrating the empires unyielding might, as sidious did, he would have compromised and made things work.
he also wasn't such a control freak
