This is my personal list, feel free to disagree, a * next to a name indicates that the character below them is about equal to them, the exact order I've placed equals is due to personal choice, randomness, making the list well balanced in terms of era & on the rare occasion, aesthetics.
So, here goes
Outright Top 10
10. Naga Sadow
I mean come on, the guy destroyed stars, he was a legend in his time & respected millennia later.
9. Adas
Sith tried to be like him for tens of millennia, he had no rivals & he beat the rakatans.
8. Jerec
Jerec, the man who murdered your father, is a great evil. He searches for the location of a sacred place, the Valley of the Jedi. The Force of thousands of Jedi is trapped here. If Jerec captures this power, he will be a creature such as the universe has never seen. A supernova of stars in a fleeting thought—the eradication of life from a star system in a whisper—will be within his power.- Qu Rahn
7. Brakiss
He was a casual star buster & could exhaust a not quite prime Luke in a battle.
6. His Glorious Majesty, Slayer of Izax, Immortal Master and Protector of Zakuul— Immortal Emperor Vitiate
While his power was derived from Rituals, he was still extremely powerful, ruling the Sith & the galaxy for almost 2 millennia & managing to contend with the likes of The Hero Of Thython & Revan. He was described as an avatar of the dark side.
5. Mother Talzin
She was considered a peer by Sidious & managed to fight on par with Mace Windy.
4. Darth Caedus
One of the earliest Skywalkers to receive a complete Jedi training. He travelled across the galaxy & learned the arts of all the different practitioners of the force. He was able to give Luke a hard fight & contend with Jaina.
3. Darth Vader*
The most feared & hated Sith Lord in History, he was considered a worthy apprentice by Sidious who considered his power to be incredible. Jax Pavan said that he had never seen a force user as powerful as Vader. He was The Chosen One of Legend & was the son of the Force. He single-handedly slaughtered the entire Jedi Order in what was by far the most powerful Era.
2. Exar Kun*
He was held in high regard by Luke & was hailed as the saviour of the Sith by Marka Ragnos. Even the entire Jedi Order was not able to kill him- 1 man. He was hailed as the greatest of the ancient Sith.
1. Darth Sidious
The number 1 spot has to go to this guy, even the ancient Sith acknowledged him as the greatest ever. He was the Sith'ari, the dark sides equivalent of the Chosen One & unlike Snaking Skywalker he achieved his true potential. As the final Sith of the Banite line he was the culmination of the sith. Virtually a god, at his peak he had become a "chaotic nexus of dark energies that swell and burst open the fabric of space". Described as "spreading his darkness completely and totally over the entire galaxy". He should be roughly equal to Abeloth.
Top 10 (Natural ability without artifacts/rituals)
10. Darth Plagueis
The Penultimate Sith of the Banite line, he was able to create life & bring people back from the dead. Respected by Sidious.
9. Darth Nihilus
He was the strongest of the ancient Sith without external help & was about equal to Pre-ritual Dear Kun, a very powerful Sith lord who was amped by several powerful artifacts. He was a wound in the Force & tanked the partial dissatisfaction of a planet which BTW was this favourite food.
8. Darth Krayt
His power was great enough to be felt by every darksider in the galaxy. He could match Karness Muur, the 1st Sith, when weakened. He killed Warlock with ease & when not at full power, force drained Abeloth while Luke held her down, killing her.
7. Darth Maul*
Sidious was greatly impressed with his power. He briefly held his own with Mace Windu before his prime & was considered to be more powerful than Dooku even before his prime.
6. Adas
Was incredibly powerful even without any artifacts or rituals.
5. Brakiss
Even without help he could destroy Stars something that Naga Shadow could only do with his machinations.
4. Mother Talzin
Could match with Windu & was a peer of Sidious without any help or rituals.
3. Darth Vader
Never made use of rituals yet was still 1 of the most powerful Sith to ever live.
2. Darth Caedus*
Never used rituals or artifacts, yet was unimaginably powerful. He was a prodigy who was able to defeat the Yuzhvan Vong overlord at a very young age.
1. Darth Sidious
Despite never using any relics or rituals & only living a normal human lifespan (compared to other powerful force adepts who lived for centuries if not millennia) he was still the most powerful Sith Lord ever.
